Executive Management Plan
The Hotel Totoro is proudly managed by a dedicated group of Managers that come from a wide variety of backgrounds, educations, and experiences. Below are the four executives that make up the Hotel Totoro Mangement Team.
Chiaki Koda
Food and Beverage Manager
Chiaki Koda is from Yamaguchi, Japan. Chiaki graduated from the University of Yamaguchi with a degree in International Relations.
Chiaki worked in the world famous Ti Tai Yo Cake and Japanese Confectionary shop in Mitsukoshi for three years before joining the Hotel Totoro Food and Beverage Team.
Chiaki lived in three countries before settling down in Shreveport, Louisiana. Chiaki has been with The Hotel Totoro for six years.
Michelle Gormley
Front Desk Operations Manager
Michelle Gormley is orginally from Spokane, Washington. Michelle served in the United States Air Force and has degrees in Professional Baking, Hotel and Restaurant Management from Spokane Community College and Bachlors Degree in business from Eastern Washington University.
Michelle has been with The Resort Company for four years, working at the amusement parks largest quick food service location, before becoming the Front Desk Operations Manager at the Hotel Totoro.
Hitomi Hasegawa
Merchandise and Procurement Manager
Hitomi Hasegawa is from Okayama, Japan. Hitomi graduated from the Kitakyushu University with a degree in Foreign Cultures.
Hitomi worked in a Kimono store for three years before she visited The Resort while she was part of a cultural exchange program and fell in love with the company. Hitomi traveled all around Japan and then all over the world to strengthen her partnerships with fashion companies. Hitomi has been with the company for 10 years.
Shunya Midorikawa
Wellness and Fitness Coordinator
Shunya Midorikawa is from Ibaraki, Japan. He graduated from Yokohama City University with a degree in Finance.
Before joining the Hotel Totoro team as the Wellness and Fitness Coordinator, Shunya worked as a gym instructor and then as a wellness coordinator for five years for a downtown fitness center in Shanghai, China. Shunya has just recently joined the company and is celebrating his six month anniversary.
